Simulation

Significant effort has been devoted to developing real-time, interactive simulations of the cardiovascular system to be used as educational tools, for exploring basic hemodynamic principles in health and disease and for predicting the effects of device- and surgical-based treatments for heart failure. The basic simulation topology is shown below.

Harvi is an App for the iPad that implements such an interactive simulation and also provides a detailed, interactive textbook of cardiovascular physiology. Additional information about Harvi is available at www.pvloops.com.
